This website is operated by The Apex AI (ABN 25 390 476 330), a sole trader business run by Michael Devlin from the Gold Coast, Queensland. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean that business. You can reach us any time at michael@theapexai.com.au.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We collect what you choose to type into the business assessment form on our home page. That form asks for:

• your name, and your business name
• your email address, and your phone number if you give one (the phone field is optional)
• what your business does, roughly how many people are in it, and how urgent the problem is
• the systems and software you use today
• which process causes you the most frustration, what gets typed or copied manually more than once, where leads, tasks or invoices get missed, and what reporting is hard to get
• what matters most to you right now, and anything else you decide to tell us in the free text box

Several of those answers describe how your business actually runs, including where it is weak. We treat that as commercially sensitive, not as marketing data.

If you email us directly instead, we collect whatever is in your email.

Our website host also records the ordinary technical information that any web server records when a page is requested, such as the request itself and the browser making it, as part of running and protecting the site.

Why we collect it

To prepare the assessment you asked for, and to reply to you about it. The answers are the assessment: they are what we read to work out where automation, integration or process improvement would be worth the most to you. We also use them to follow up on that enquiry and to keep ordinary records of the work we have done.

We do not use your information to build a profile of you, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you filled in the form.

Who else sees it

Our website host, Netlify, transmits and stores the submission so that it can reach us, and emails us to say a new one has arrived. Netlify may process and store data overseas. Submitting the form means accepting that, because there is no way for the form to reach us otherwise.

Beyond that, your information is not shared with anyone else without your consent. It is never sold, never traded, and never given to a data broker, an advertiser or a lead-generation service.

The only other circumstance in which we would disclose it is where we are required or authorised to by law.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own, runs no third-party analytics or advertising scripts, and does not track you across other websites. The page loads code libraries from public content delivery networks so the site can run, and links out to our own social profiles, which have their own privacy practices.

How long we keep it

We keep your submission for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, and for as long as the law requires us to keep business records. No fixed period is quoted here because none has been set. If you want yours removed sooner, ask, and we will remove it.

Access, correction and deletion

Email michael@theapexai.com.au and ask. You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason.

When you ask for deletion we remove it from our own records and from the form submissions held by our website host, unless we are required by law to keep it. We will tell you if that applies.

We will respond to any request within a reasonable time, and if we cannot do what you have asked, we will tell you why.

Keeping it secure

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and submissions are transmitted the same way. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No system carries a guarantee, and we do not pretend otherwise, but access to enquiries is limited to the person who answers them.

If something goes wrong

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, tell us at michael@theapexai.com.au and we will look into it. You can also raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If what we do changes, this page changes first, and the date at the top changes with it.
